Obsidian Bookmark Plus Demo Page

By Tony Christie • Demo Article • 2 min read
A simple browser extension that creates rich bookmarks from web pages directly into your Obsidian vault with metadata extraction and custom templates.

This extension makes bookmarking websites into Obsidian more useful by automatically extracting metadata like titles, descriptions, authors, and images. Instead of just saving a URL, you get a properly formatted note with all the context you need.

📋 Metadata Extraction

Gets titles, descriptions, authors, favicons, and Open Graph data from web pages.

🎨 Custom Templates

Format bookmarks however you want - simple text, rich layouts, or anything in between.

🌐 Cross-Browser

Works on Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium browsers.

📁 Multiple Paths

Organize bookmarks into different document paths in your vault.

How It Works

Click the extension icon on any webpage, and it extracts the available metadata. You can then choose which document path to save it to and customize the title, description, or tags before adding it to your Obsidian vault.

The extension uses templates to format the bookmark, so you can create anything from a simple link to a rich card with images and structured information.

Try It Out

This page has metadata for testing the extension.
